I am interested in having an alarm or CCTV system installed, how would I progress with this?
The easiest way for you to arrange a surveyor to attend site and offer a free of charge, non-obligatory quotation, would be to call into the office on the number listed on the website. Alternatively, you can send us an email enquiry with your full name, address and contact information and we can contact you directly to arrange this.
If I purchase a system from Croxley Alarms, do I own the equipment?
Yes. You own the equipment outright.
If we progress with an installation, how much warranty is offered on the parts?
We provide a 12-month warranty on all new parts. If you extend the alarm maintenance agreement for a second year, we extend the warranty for an additional 12 months. (Maximum 2 Years Warranty)
I am interested in having an alarm system installed, but I have a pet, how will the alarm system cope with this?
We offer various solutions for pet owners. While there are no pet-proof sensors, there are pet-tolerable sensors depending on the animal and its behaviour. Alternatively, we can install perimeter-based devices or design the system with bespoke area sets to accommodate your pet.
If my alarm system activates and I am not home to silence it, how long will the external siren ring for?
The external siren will ring for 10-20 minutes depending on the system type.
Once I have an alarm installed by yourselves, why would I require continued maintenance of the system?
Continued maintenance ensures the system operates at its best and prevents small faults from developing. Most home insurance policies also require a maintenance agreement with an NSI-approved company.
Can spiders, cobwebs, flies, and insects trigger an alarm system?
Yes, they can cause false alarms if they get too close to the motion detection sensors. We recommend using spider repellent sprays and routinely cleaning the sensors and nearby walls with a soft dry cloth to reduce false alarms.
My alarm system is wireless, how often should the wireless batteries be replaced?
We recommend replacing the batteries annually during the service visit. We offer a 12-month warranty on wireless batteries that we supply (excluding sirens), so changing them yearly ensures you are covered.
Why don’t you offer 12-months warranty on wireless siren batteries?
If the siren rings continuously due to a false alarm or activation, it can drain the battery quickly. We cannot warranty a battery that might be drained from such potential misuse.
